Ford Wins PBR BlueDEF Tour Event in Yakima

Cody Ford earned his first win of the 2016 season in Yakima, Washington.
YAKIMA, Wash. – Cody Ford captured the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) BlueDEF Tour (BDT) event victory Saturday night with a total score of 174.50 points inside the Yakima Valley SunDome.
Ford went 2-for-2 and earned $6,500 after riding Totally Annoying (Corey & Lange/Flying Diamond Rodeo Co.) for 86.5 points in Round 1, and Mr. Buddy (Corey & Lange/Flying Diamond Rodeo Co.) for 88 points in the championship round.
Winners of each BDT event in 2016 also will be guaranteed a minimum of one opportunity to compete at a Built Ford Tough Series regular-season event in an attempt to win enough points to rank among the Top-35 bull riders in the world, and earn a spot on the elite tour. With the win, Ford qualifies to compete at the Arlington, Texas, BFTS event on Feb. 27.
In second place was Roscoe Jarboe with a total score of 172 points, while Lindomar Lino (169 points), Tyler Harr (87.5 points), and Scottie Knapp (87.5 points) rounded out the Top 5.
Devin Dandy (Kelly Bowcut) and Crazy Bull (Corey & Lange/Flying Diamond Rodeo Co.) tied for high-marked bull Saturday with a score of 44.5 points. Devin Dandy (Kelly Bowcut) bucked off Brant Atwood in the first round in 5.92 seconds. Crazy Bull (Corey & Lange/Flying Diamond Rodeo Co.) bucked Tristan Mize after 3.29 seconds in the championship round.
The BlueDEF Tour heads to Witchita, Kansas, next week. The event will take place at INTRUST Bank Arena on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. CT.
The overall winner of the BDT season will be the rider who earns the most world points at the BDT level. He will receive $50,000, and qualify to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.
