THE EVENT:
FIRST TIME EVER – The PBR’s BlueDEF Velocity Tour (BDVT) is hosting its finals this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center. The BlueDEF Velocity Tour is in its second year of competition and this will be the first time the tour has hosted a finals event.
COMPETITORS – The 47 competitors this weekend will come from the PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series, the BlueDEF Velocity Tour, along with the Top-5 men from the PBR’s International tours in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. The field will also include the Top-2 finishers from the PBR BlueDEF Bucking Madness: Bull Rider Reality Series.
WHERE THEY GO FROM HERE – The 2015 BDVT season’s overall winner, the rider who has earned the most world points at the BDVT level, will receive a $50,000 bonus and a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas. The Top-3 performers at the BlueDEF Finals and the highest finishing international competitor will also have the opportunity to compete at the PBR World Finals.
NEXT UP – Next on tap for the riders of the PBR is the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 21-25 at the Thomas & Mack Center, where the 2015 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most points during the 2015 season, will receive the coveted PBR World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.
FORMAT – The 47 bull riders will compete in Round 1 on Friday and Round 2 on Saturday, facing one bull in each round. The riders with the Top 15 total scores after two rounds will advance to the championship round on Saturday for an additional ride and a chance at the $25,000 event title.
POSSIBLE POINTS – The winner can walk away with up to a possible 440 points at the BlueDEF Finals. The event aggregate winner will receive 200 points and each of the three rounds will award 80 points to the winner.

SCOUTING THE TOP GUYS – Six of the top riders in the world will be participating in this weekend’s BlueDEF Finals. The No. 1 rider atop the PBR World Standings, J.B. Mauney, along with No. 2 Kaique Pacheco, No. 3 Joao Ricardo Vieira, No. 4 Matt Triplett, No. 5 J.W. Harris and No. 9 Valdiron de Oliveira.
