J.W. Hart and Chris Shivers Split Unfinished Business

DECATUR, Texas – Eight former PBR (Professional Bull Riders) bull riders came out of retirement Saturday night at the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse Arena for the Built Ford Tough Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business, presented by BlueDEF, event and two riders emerged victorious. J.W. “Iron Man” Hart and two-time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers split the $160,000 winner-take-all payout.

Hart and Shivers each posted 88.5 points atop King Buck (BMC Bucking Bulls) and Black Cat (Broken W Ranch/Mike White), respectively. They were the only two riders to cover their bulls.

The eight riders that competed in the event were:

Ross Coleman, 12-time PBR World Finals qualifier, retired 2011

Michael Gaffney, 1997 PBR World Champion, PBR co-founder, retired 2004
Justin McBride, 2005 and 2007 PBR World Champion, retired 2008
Tater Porter, 2000 PBR World Finals winner, retired 2007
Mike White, 1999 PRCA Bull Riding Champion and 1999 PBR Rookie of the Year, retired 2010

The Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business was the featured event that took place in Decatur, Texas. The first two events included the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge BlueDEF Velocity Tour event and the Champions Challenge.

2004 PBR World Champion and Decatur local Mike Lee earned the BlueDEF victory, going 2-for-2 in the event with 177 points overall, including an 89.75-point effort on Pearl Harbor (Boyd and Floyd Bucking Bulls), to take home $6,529.63.

2010 PBR World Champion Renato Nunes took the win during the Champions Challenge, covering Dakota Style’s Hy Test (Jared Allen’s Pro Bull Team) to take home $20,000 in winnings. Nunes lasted just 3.19 seconds on the $20,000 bonus bull Sweet Pro’s Long John (D&H Cattle Co.).
