PUEBLO, Colo. – Luis Blanco (Sao Paulo, Brazil) notched a win in Columbus, Ohio, during the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division All American Quarter Horse Congress Invitational with an 88-point effort in the championship round. There were six riders that covered both their bulls in the event, but it was Blanco that came out on top with 174 points and earned himself $5,385.81.
Tommy Erxleben (Winston-Salem, North Carolina), last year’s winner in Columbus, put 84.5 points in Round 1 and came back with 86 points in the championship round, but it wasn’t enough to overtake Blanco. Erxleben finished in second place with 170.5 points and $3,459.50.
Kyle Jones finished in third place with 166 points and $1,651.13, Josh Baker (Birch Tree, Missouri) took fourth place with 164.5 points and $1,808.38, while Brant Atwood (Decatur, Texas) rounded out the top-five with 162 points in fifth place and $660.45.
San Antonio hosted its last TPD event of the 2014 season as Robson Aragao (Aracaju, Brazil) won with an 86-point ride at the Cowboys Dancehall event.
Eight other riders made the whistle in the one-round event; Budd Williamson (Ayr, Australia) placed second with 85 points, Justin Robards(Bulahdelah, Australia) placed third with an 84-point performance andFrancisco Morales (Jrapunto, Mexico) landed in fourth place with 82.5 points.
The TPD will visit Arkansas for the PBR Riding in the Rock at the Barton Coliseum in Little Rock on Oct. 17-18. Jason Malone (Pleasanton, Texas) will be looking to gain valuable points going into the World Finals next week, Tyler Harr (Slovak, Arkansas), and Jay Miller (Liberty, South Carolina), are among others who will participate.
