Oliveira Wins Round 2 in New York

Valdiron de Oliveira earned his second round win of the young Built Ford Tough Series schedule, riding Little Red Jacket for 88.5 points to win Round 2 of the Monster Energy Buck Off at the Garden.

Oliveira earned 100 world standings points for the round win and put himself in contention in Round 3, which gets underway Sunday.

The 35-year-old Brazilian was followed up by a talented group of riders in second place. Chase Outlaw, Matt Triplett and Stetson Lawrence all earned 86 points in Round 2 to tie for second place and earn 50 world standings points each.

Outlaw covered Sun Dome, while Triplett covered The Marlin and Lawrence picked up his first ride of the weekend aboard Pitch Perfect.

2014 Rookie of the Year J.W. Harris finished fifth in Round 2 with 85.5 points on Mr. Bojangles, and earned 30 world standings points.

Three-time World Champion Silvano Alves extended his PBR-record consecutive rides streak to 21, by covering Fat Chance for 84 points. Alves also rode RMEF Big Bull for 69 points, but was granted — and quickly accepted — a re-ride option before covering Fat Chance.

Alves was one of eight riders who have two qualified rides heading into Round 3 action on Sunday. Outlaw leads the aggregate with 171.25 points, followed by a pair of World Champions, with Alves in second with 170.25 points,  and Guilherme Marchi with 168.00. Shane Proctor is fourth with 167.75 points and Triplett sits fifth with 162.75 points.

Round 3 action begins in Madison Square Garden at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
