Outlaw Takes 15/15 Bucking Battle

ST. LOUIS – Arkansas native Chase Outlaw notched the second Professional Bull Riders (PBR) 15/15 Bucking Battle win of his Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) career Saturday at Scottrade Center during the Bass Pro Chute Out presented by Cooper Tires.

Outlaw posted 89.25 points on Crack The Whip (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen) to earn 150 world standings points during a special round that featured the Top 15 riders in the world competing against the 15 highest-ranked bulls.

“I’m tickled to death every time I see him (Crack The Whip) beside my name” Outlaw said. “The two bulls I got on this weekend before that, they did not go near as how I planned, so I was tickled to death to have him. I knew I was about to spur the heck out of him.”

Rookie Kaique Pacheco rode Pound The Alarm (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen) for a score of 88.50 points to finish in second place, earning 90 points toward the world standings, while Valdiron de Oliveira covered Little Gremlin (Josey McElroy Bucking Bulls) for a score of 86 points, receiving  75 world standings points for third place.

Pacheco also won Round 2 of the Bass Pro Chute Out with an 89.5-point effort on Little Red Jacket (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen) and was awarded 100 event points for the first-place performance.

After an 85.25-point ride on The Commander (5G Farms Bucking Bulls) to capture fourth place in Round 2, reigning PBR Rookie of the Year J.W. Harris heads into the final day of competition leading the event average with 171 points. The winner of the event average is awarded 400 points toward the world standings.

Harris is one of only four riders with two qualified rides for the event.

Round 1 winner Ryan Dirteater has also covered two bulls and sits second in the event average with 162.75 points. Fabiano Vieira is currently in third place with 160 points, and the only other man to cover two bulls in the event is Stetson Lawrence, who is in fourth place with 149.5 points.

Round 3 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round of the Bass Pro Chute Out presented by Cooper Tires, which will determine the event winner, will take place Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. CT. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
