PUEBLO, Colo. – Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) was the only rider to cover both his bulls to earn the victory as the Professional Bull Riders returned to Ontario, California, for the first time in four years with the BlueDEF Velocity Tour on Nov.15 at Citizen Business Bank Arena.
Pacheco rode for 86 points in Round 1, and after covering Rudolph (Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls) for 63 points, he declined the re-ride and kept the ride score, picking up the win with 149 points overall while taking home $7,900.00.
The decision worked out as the final five riders, including Round 1 winners Cooper Davis (Wharton, Texas) and Skyler Sims (Peculiar, Missouri), all bucked off their respective bulls.
Davis and Sims tied for second place in the event average, following their 89.5-point rides in Round 1. Omar Martinez (Joshua, Texas) finished in fourth place and Valdiron de Olivieira (Palestina, Brazil) took fifth place with 88 points.
At the JW Hart Invitational Touring Pro Division event in McAlester, Oklahoma, on Nov. 15, Dustin Ratchford (Wynnewood, Oklahoma) was the only bull rider to go 2-for-2 as he finished in first place with 168 points for $6,936.00 in earnings.
Ratchford went into the championship round in third place after an 83-point ride in Round 1. He held on to his bull to record the only score of the round with an 85-point performance to take the win.
Brant Atwood (Decatur, Texas) finished in second place with 86 points at $3,835.20, Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas) took third place with 84.5 points and $2,448.00 with Douglas Lino de Souza (Morro Agudo, Brazil) and Lane Lasley (Little Rock, Arkansas) rounding out the Top 5 with 82.5 and 82 points, respectively.
On Nov. 22, the PBR’s BlueDEF Velocity tour continues at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Bonner Bolton (Gardendale, Texas), Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas) and Skeeter Kingsolver (McClouth, Kansas) are scheduled to compete.
In Springfield, Missouri, at the two-day Ariat PBR Extreme Nationals TPD event on Nov. 21-22, Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma), Gage Gay (Staley, North Carolina), Josh Faircloth (Randleman, North Carolina) and Jason Malone (Pleasanton, Texas) are all expected to ride.
