PUEBLO, Colo. ― In the past several years, Brazilian cowboys have stormed to the top of the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series, the major league of the PBR, shaking up a sport long associated with the American West. Bill Whitaker and 60 MINUTES SPORTS traveled to Brazil to the home of several of the PBR’s Brazilian athletes to get to know these riders better. On Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME fans can travel with 60 MINUTES SPORTS to Brazil to find out more about these cowboys.
60 MINUTES SPORTS spends an hour showing how dominant Brazilian bull riders have become in such a rugged sport. These determined South Americans have ridden their way to an American Dream of money and fame they never knew back home on the Brazilian range, where many grew up poor. Bill Whitaker talks to them on tour in the U.S. and goes back to report on their roots in Brazilian cattle country.
