Silvano Alves Wins in Front of a Sold Out Crowd in Salinas

Silvano Alves was tops in Salinas with a 2-for-2 effort.

SALINAS, Calif. – A sold out crowd of 10,387 witnessed a night of fantastic rides and wrecks that only the PBR can provide at the Salinas Sports Complex. Three-time World Champion Silvano Alves went 2-for-2 to win the Touring Pro Division (TPD) stop.

Presented by Salinas Valley Ford, the PBR continues to be one of the most popular events held during Big Week, selling out for the fourth consecutive year. Alves earned the championship belt buckle with a score of total score 174 points after rides on two bulls.

Alves began the night by covering Angry Elf (Evan Matthews) for 85 points before winning the final round with 89 points on Formula 1 Juice owned by Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls. With the win he earns 60 points towards the PBR World Standings along with $8,730.24.

Second place went to Chase Outlaw as he also covered both his bulls in the one-night event. The event is only Outlaw’s eighth since coming back from shoulder surgery. He talled 83.5 points aboard Fidget Spinner (Evan Matthews) before coming back with 87.5 points on Tuxedo (Diamond Bar Cattle/Pasillas Cattle Co.) in the championship round.

Outlaw earned 30 world points along with $6,297.23.

Stetson Lewis finished in third place, earning 20 world points. He went 2-for-2 after earning 84 points on All Jammed Up (Nunes Livestock) and 86 points on Hair Trigger (Humpz and Hornz/KMH). He took home $3,864.21.

Cody Teel made the whistle on Wilbur (Julio Moreno/Dallas Schott) in Round 1 before coming back with a qualified ride on Yo Momma (Humpz and Hornz/Sis ‘N’ Stan Bucking Bulls) in the championship round to finish in fourth place. He earned a paycheck of $2,433.02 along with 15 points towards the world standings.

Fifth and sixth places went to Brock Radford and Lachlan Richardson. The pair earned 10 and five world points, respectively. Bradford went 2-for-2 with rides Mortimer (Julio Moreno/Dallas Schott) and Glitter (Humpz and Hornz). He earned 86 points in Round 1 and then 81 points in the final round of the night.

Richardson went the full 8 on Hillbilly Rock (Julio Moreno/Dallas Schott) in Round 1 but was bucked off Spirit Guide (Rodriguez Bucking Bulls) in 1.75 seconds.

Radford took home a paycheck of $1,631.55 while Richardson earned $2,518.89.

Spotted Demon (Julio Moreno/Dallas Schott) was named the Bull of the Event after dispatching Wallace de Oliveira in 1.72 seconds in the championship round. The big black and white bull is currently 6-0 this season and is ranked second in the World Champion Bull standings.

There are six TPD events in the next nine days on tap with the the main event being PBR returning to the “Daddy of Them All,” Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 23-24.
