Weekly Recap

Veterans Day weekend was a lucrative one for rookies and seasoned cowboys alike with $421,582 on the table across four PRCA competitions Nov. 5-11. So far, the 2019 season has added up to $2,864,819 in prize money across 40 competitions.

The fastest times and highest scores might not always make the record book, but they make a lasting memory for fans and competitors. With about 650 PRCA competitions across the Western Hemisphere each year, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

In addition to the fame that comes with winning the most prize money, each ride was a chance to be the best of the week. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event during that period.

Bareback rider Tim O’Connell made an 88-point ride on Three Hills Rodeo’s Weenie during the third round of the RAM Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 10.

Steer wrestler Tyler Waguespack made a 3.6-second run at the RAM Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo in Davie, Fla., Nov. 9.

Team ropers Jacob Dagenhart and Zack Mabry clocked in at 4.7 seconds during the third round of the RAM SCFR.

Saddle bronc rider Allen Boore scored 88.5 points on Rosser Rodeo’s Hat Stomper at the Brawley (Calif.) Cattle Call Rodeo, Nov. 10.

Tie-down roper Chance Oftedahl made a 6.8-second run during the third round of the RAM GLCFR, Nov. 10. Oftedahl’s run is the fastest one so far in the 2019 season and matches the fastest run made in the 2018 season, accomplished by Marty Yates during the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo at Denver in January.

Barrel racer Sabra O’Quinn clocked in at 14.67 seconds during the third round of the RAM SCFR, Nov. 10.

Steer roper Caleb McMillan made an 11.4-second run at the Columbia River Steer Roping Circuit Finals in Athena, Ore., Nov. 10.
