Williamson Wins in Canada

LANGHAM, Saskatchewan — Australian bull rider Budd Williamson left Langham, Saskatchewan, $5,300 richer after a first and third-place finish at the third annual Curtis Leschyshyn PBR Classic, presented by the Transall Group of Companies on Saturday night.
Coming into the event, Williamson sat 55th in the PBR’s world standings.
As this event had $10,000 added, Williamson earns an alternate spot in the draw for the Built Ford Tough Series stop this week in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It will be Williamson’s 2014 BFTS debut and third event overall in his career.
Williamson clinched the victory with an 89-point ride on Minion Stuart in the championship round.
Even more so, the Aussie took True Blood to the 8-second whistle for 88.5 points. This is the same bull that dashed the three-peat dreams of Silvano Alves at last year’s PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.
Scott Schiffner took second as the only other man putting two rides together, while fourth place went to Tyler Pankewitz and his 83.5 points on Sleep Tight in the long round.
Stetson Lawrence, who began the weekend ranked 34th in the world, rounded out the Top 5 with 83 points on Aftershock.
