COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The fields have been narrowed for the men who will be selected as the bullfighters, barrelmen and pickup men for the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 4-13 in Las Vegas.
In the bullfighting category, Dusty Tuckness, Cody Webster, Aaron Ferguson, Wacey Munsell and Chuck Swisher are the final five. The top 20 bull riders in the world, as of Sept. 30, will vote this week, and the top three vote getters will work the WNFR.
The five men nominated for WNFR barrelman are Justin Rumford, John Harrison, Robbie Hodges, J.J. Harrison and Mark Swingler. The top vote getter from this week’s vote among announcers and bullfighters will be the 2014 NFR Barrelman, while second place will be the alternate.
There are four men nominated for WNFR pickup men, with the top two being selected to work the event, while third place is the alternate. The bareback and saddle bronc riders in the top 20, as of Sept. 30, will vote. The final four nominees are Bobby Marriott, Matt Twitchell, Chase Cervi and Josh Edwards.
Winners will be announced within the next week.
