DETAILS:

  • Three top-caliber, champion contestants – O’Connell, Nogueira and Smidt – will take a break from horses, calves and steers to spend some time with the children at Grant a Gift Autism Foundation. The contestants are in Las Vegas for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, which began on Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Thomas & Mack Center and runs through Saturday, Dec. 16.
  • Grant a Gift Autism Foundation (GGAF) is dedicated to enhancing the development of children and youth on the autism spectrum and supporting their families – through diagnostic, support services and community outreach connections.
  • All contestants are World Champions. They are competing for a share of the $10 million purse. In 2016, the Wrangler NFR had a total event attendance of 168,859 over the 10 days of competition. The event has sold out more than 300 consecutive performances.
