Behind The Chaps: Miss Rodeo Nevada

As our state song says, “Home Means Nevada”, and that is what I am showing through my chaps. Beginning at the top, I have a Bighorn Sheep skull to represent our state animal and a Lahontan Cutthroat Trout for the state fish. I chose a metallic silver/blue base to give a nod to Nevada’s rich history in silver mining. At the bottom of each leg, the panel is hand painted corner. The Nevada Wolfpack being represented as my alma mater, where I also played volleyball on a full athletic scholarship. The other scene is the Sierra Nevada Mountains with the Truckee River. The chaps are also finished with a silver, blue, and white fringe.
