Chiseled Remains No. 1 in Yeti World Champion Bull Race; I’m Legit Too Impresses

By: Justin Felisko

PUEBLO, Colo. – When the PBR stops in Oklahoma, it is normally a given that bull power will be at a premium, and that was once again the case this weekend with the non-public PBR Las Vegas Invitational, presented by Union Home Mortgage.

Chiseled – the No. 1 bull in the YETI World Championship race – ended Mason Taylor’s pursuit of a victory at the Lazy E Arena when he yanked Taylor off his back in 5.23 seconds for a bull score of 45.5 points during the championship round.

The 2019 ABBI Classic Champion will remain atop the YETI World Champion Bull standings for another week with his 45.75-point average in four appearances this season.

Chiseled has yet to be ridden since Rubens Barbosa conquered him for 95.75 points during Round 4 of the 2019 PBR World Finals.

Two-time World Champion Justin McBride said on CBS Sports Network that he would have been OK with an even higher bull score for Chiseled this weekend.

“That was good stuff,” McBride said. “Forty-five and a half from Chiseled. It could have been 46. That was a spectacular out. I love Taylor. He is going for it, but you just can’t fall away, no matter how cool that bull feels. You cannot pull your bareback riggin’ out on him. You still have to stay up there, keep your head down and keep your upper body forward because that is just such a great bull. I guarantee you, given the opportunity, Mason Taylor will pick that bull time and time again. Great effort.”

The 2020 YETI World Champion Bull will be the bull with the highest combined average based upon his top eight regular-season premier series outs and two outs at the 2020 World Finals (Nov. 4-8) in Las Vegas.

Chiseled posted the third-best bull score of the weekend at the Lazy E Arena.

The YETI “Built For The Wild” Bull of the event was I’m Legit Too. The 5-year-old bull set a new career high when he was scored 46.5 points for sending talented Brazilian young gun Mauricio Moreira flying in only 2.75 seconds.

Fearless had the second-best bull score of the weekend for his 45.75-point effort against Lindomar Lino (2.47 seconds).

Three-time World Champion SweetPro’s Bruiser made his season debut with a 44-point effort. The 9-year-old legend bucked off Ezekiel Mitchell in a quick 2.99 seconds in a showcase of his brute power.

Taylor Toves was no match against Smooth Operator in the championship round, either. The defending World Champion bovine athlete disposed of Toves in 2.51 seconds for a 45-point bull score.

UPDATED YETI WORLD CHAMPION BULL STANDINGS

1. Chiseled (45.75 points on four outs)
2. Air Support (45.69 points on four outs)
3. Smooth Operator (45.58 points on six outs)
