Dylan Smith Wins Final Regular-Season Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Event in College Station, Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – When the dust settled at the final regular-season PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in College Station, Texas, Dylan Smith (Ararat, Virginia) rode supreme, crowned the event champion for the Aggieland Classic inside Reed Arena.

Smith was explosive in Round 1, delivering the fourth-best score when he outlasted White Lightning (Flying C/Flying P Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points.

Despite being tossed by Risky Business (CO Cattle Co./Bob Whisnant) in a swift 1.66 seconds in Round 2, the Virginia native returned determined in the championship round.

Quick to rebound, Smith dominated Lemonade (JQH/TDS/Buentello Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points to surge to the top of the event leaderboard and clinch the victory.

Smith earned 124 Velocity Global points for the win, surging to No. 34 in the race to be crowned the 2023 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) and Elizmar Jeremias (Anapu, Brazil) tied for second.

Montanha earned the podium finish compliments of an 83-point ride on Trucker Bill (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) in Round 1 and an 85.5-point score atop Chubb (Sho-Me Rodeo/Diamond W) in Round 2.

Garnering 75 Velocity Global points, Montanha is now ranked No. 2 in the title fight, a mere 85.5 points behind No. 1 Josh Frost (Randlett, Utah).

For Jeremias, he collected 74.5 Velocity Global points after riding Lil Larry (Sho-Me Rodeo/Diamond W) for 84.5 points in Round 1 and Dump Truck (Cannon Cattle Co.) for 84 points in Round 2.

Headlined by his event-best, Round 2-winning score Patterson Starcher (Tonganoxie, Kansas) was fourth.

Starcher was sensational in the second round, making the requisite 8 aboard Never Forget (Triple C Bucking Bulls) for 87 points.

He left Reed Arena having earned 49 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Bryan Titman (East Bernard, Texas).

The Texan went 1-for-3, covering Simp (Farris/Platinum Bull Company) for 86.5 points in Round 2, earning 35 Velocity Global points.
