Latest PSN: Joe Bell, 66 Years Young and Still Winning Rodeos

Like most steer wrestlers, Joe Bell Sr. doesn’t see a reason to stop bulldogging.

Unlike most steer wrestlers, at the age of 66, Bell is still going strong wrestling steers. While plenty of bulldoggers slow down and stop well before they cross the half-century mark, Bell keeps chugging along, even winning a rodeo this summer.

He’s not sure how long he’ll continue to do it, but he’s enjoying it while it lasts.

“I’ve looked at other hobbies and I can’t find anything I really want to do that makes me happy besides being out here rodeoing,” Bell said. “I wish I could give you a real good answer as to why I’m still doing it, but I’m about half nuts, I guess.”

Read more about Bell’s steer wrestling adventures in the Aug. 20, 2021, edition of ProRodeo Sports News.
