PBR expresses condolences to Urquijo family and friends

CONDOLENCES TO URQUIJO FAMILY AND FRIENDS (4-10-2014)

PUEBLO, Colo. ― The entire PBR organization expresses its condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Irvyng Urquijo, who was tragically killed Tuesday night in a bull riding accident.

The 20-year-old, sophomore at Eastern New Mexico University passed away after being transported to Roosevelt General Hospital, in Portales, N.M., following the accident, which took place during the rodeo team’s practice session.

“Irvyng was a fearless young man with an immense love for the sport,” said Gary Thorne, a senior teammate of Urquijo. “His smile and positive attitude were contagious. Prayers are needed for his family and others that mourn his passing.”

A native of Springer, N.M., where he graduated from high school in 2011, Urquijo was majoring in animal and dairy science.
