Bull Rider Trevor Kastner Out of Rounds 7, 8

LAS VEGAS – Bull rider Trevor Kastner will not be competing in Round 7 or 8 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after being doctor-released out because of a separated left shoulder.

Kastner met with Dr. Tandy Freeman, Wednesday morning, and the decision was made to keep Kastner out of the next two rounds. The Roff, Okla., cowboy will be re-evaluated Friday morning ahead of Round 9.

“I got hurt when I was bucked off in Round 6,” said Kastner, 31. “This is frustrating, but this is just part of it. My shoulder is pretty sore, and I don’t have much movement in it right now.”

Kastner was bucked off United Pro Rodeo’s Meeko. Meeko was voted the top bull of Round 6.

Kastner is 15th in the PRCA | RAM World Standings with $104,396.

This is Kastner’s fourth trip to the Wrangler NFR with his others coming in 2011-13. He finished a career-best fifth in the world standings in 2012.
