Coming Off Big AQHA World Show Win, Fallon Taylor Says Brazilian Barrel Racing Techniques Have Given her Program an Edge

João Leão Wins 3rd in AQHA World Junior Class Aboard Flos Hush Money

(Dallas, TX) – On Nov. 4, Brazilian barrel racer João Leão won 3rd in the AQHA World Junior Class in Oklahoma City, OK aboard Flos Hush Money. Flos Hush Money is a 2016 AQHA mare by Slick By Design and out of Flos Heiress. She is owned by 2X World Champion Barrel Racer, Fallon Taylor.

“To say I’m emotional over this award is an understatement,” says Fallon. “João works harder than any other barrel racer I know. He literally has put in 16-18 hour days to make sure these horses are loved and comfortable first and learning and winning next. The level of discipline and integrity this man brings to our sport makes me so proud!”

Fallon, a 30-year veteran of the sport and champion in her own right says before Leão was riding the babies of her great mare, Babyflo she and her team were his biggest fans.

“Long before he was riding Flo babies, my friends and I used to watch him in the warm up pen and note his techniques. Now the fact that we have the opportunity to ride with such a talented competitor every single day is an honor and I believe has given our program an edge,” says Fallon.

Known for her success inside and outside of the arena, Fallon credits the incredible Nov. 4 win to the magic that happens when two trainers at the top of their game embrace one another’s strengths.

“João has been humble enough to adopt some of my techniques and I have infused so many Brazilian things into our program. This has been such an amazing collaboration of efforts with no room for ego, only a ranch full of people and extremely talented horses inspired to learn from each other and reap the rewards of incredibly hard work.”
