PBR Bucks Back to Lincoln, Nebraska with Velocity Tour Event at Pinnacle Bank Arena April 13

By: Kacie Albert

LINCOLN, Neb. – Following a one-year hiatus, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) will return to Lincoln, Nebraska, competing at Pinnacle Bank Arena on April 13, 2024, with the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s PBR Lincoln.

For one night only, some of the world’s best bull riders will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes, the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast, in one of the most exciting and unpredictable live sporting events to witness.

PBR’s return to Lincoln comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2023, as, riding the surging popularity of Western Sports, the Velocity Tour broke and reset numerous attendance and competition records en route to its most successful season to date.

The upcoming PBR Lincoln will mark the 25th stop of the 30-event regular season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.

PBR last bucked into Lincoln in October 2022 with the then-newly launched Challenger Series. Courtesy of a Round 1-winning score, Wyatt Rogers (Hulbert, Oklahoma) rode supreme and was crowned the PBR Lincoln event winner.

In the opening round of competition, the stoic Oklahoman first drew Airplane of Death (Rocha Bucking Bulls). Rogers remained in perfect time with the animal athlete, reaching the whistle for an event-best 87.5 points.

While Rogers was bucked off in the championship round, upended by Slingin BB’s (Jenkins Cattle Co.) in 3.37 seconds, no rider would go 2-for-2, and his opening effort proved enough to cement the win.

Before the Challenger Series event in 2022, the premier Unleash The Beast visited Pinnacle Bank Arena in 2020 and 2021.

In 2021, Lincoln welcomed the elite Unleash The Beast for the final regular-season event before the PBR World Finals. Compliments of a flawless 3-for-3 showing, Boudreaux Campbell (Crockett, Texas) won the tour stop to crack the Top 5 in the world standings.

When the PBR debuted in Lincoln in 2020, Cooper Davis (Jasper, Texas) rode his way to the winner’s circle compliments of a walk-off, 90-point ride.

The bull riding action for PBR Lincoln begins at 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, April 13. All 36 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1. The Top 12 will advance to the championship round later that evening for one more out and a chance at the event title.
