Record Setting Night for Kinsel in Eighth Round of 2020 Wrangler NFR
ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Hailey Kinsel and Sister continue to rewrite the records in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association, with the latest coming in the form of a new WPRA record on a standard pattern.

Earlier this year in Dodge City, Kansas, the duo set the record in a time of 16.63 seconds but decided that wasn’t good enough and decided to improve on that mark during the eighth round of the Wrangler NFR inside Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. This time they stopped the clock in 16.56 seconds.
“Oh my gosh. I keep thinking God just keeps giving me good things and when you think that is it, that is enough then there is another,” said Kinsel after her record breaking run. “I can’t put it into words. It means so much to me. My horse has just been so amazing and I just give her all the credit. She was amazing tonight.

“Setting the record in Dodge City was a great time in my life and really needed to do well then and tonight I just knew I needed to ride with confidence and Sister took care of the rest.”
Kinsel and DM Sissy Hayday are well on their way to a third consecutive world title having already amassed $156,385 in NFR earnings, with two rounds left. The only question is what other record might they rewrite before the conclusion?

“She is definitely my one in a million horse, my once in a lifetime horse,” said Kinsel, who leads the average in a time of 137.26 on eight runs and leads the world standings with $234,845.
Jill Wilson of Snyder, Texas, moved to second in the average with 139.47 seconds and Jessica Routier is third with 139.76. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi who had been second in the average fell to fourth with a total time of 139.97 seconds. Pozzi Tonozzi entered the 2020 Wrangler NFR ranked No. 1 and was also looking for her third world title but Kinsel has definitely made it hard on the rest of the field. Pozzi Tonozzi is second in the world standings with $169,494.
While Kinsel is in the driver’s seat for the world title the rest of the field are in contention for the Jerry Ann Taylor Best Dressed Award presented by the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. The award winner will receive $5,000 and fans can help decide the winner by voting after each round at www.wpra.com. The winner will be announced prior to the start of the tenth round so fans have today and tomorrow to vote.
