Fun Facts about Lukasey: His father was a bull rider, then a barrelman and Lukasey has always wanted to ride bulls. He started riding sheep and kept working through the ranks. He qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo in 2020 and had a life-threatening injury. The rodeo was in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the Lazy E Arena. Lukasey’s head collided with the bulls and he was knocked unconscious. They took him to the hospital in Oklahoma City where he had two brain bleeds. When he woke up he thought he
was still at the rodeo. He spent six days in the hospital and two months later was getting on bulls at his home. He set a goal this year to win rookie of the year and qualify for the WNFR. He accomplished both in spite of breaking his leg in Montana in July and puncturing a lung in California in August.
