COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2023 Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping is less than a week away now and the 2023 WPRA Breakaway Roping World Champion will be crowned a week from today on December 6 at the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

All 10 rounds will be LIVE streamed for FREE on Wrangler Network. Tune in daily starting at 1:45 p.m. PT for the pre-show with opening ceremonies kicking off daily at 2:00 p.m. PT.

This year’s NFBR is looking to be the most competitive Finals yet with nearly half the field coming in with more than $100,000 in season earnings. For the second time in her career Shelby Boisjoli will enter the NFBR wearing the No. 1 back number. She comes in with $164,549 an earnings record for breakaway ropers and leads NFBR Rookie Hali Williams by $17,806. This duo has battled for the No. 1 spot since March and you can bet the battle will continue in the desert.

Reigning world champion Martha Angelone comes in ranked third this year with $132,885 and will have her work cut-out out for her to defend her title but she is up for the challenge.

The NFBR, produced by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), features the Top 15 breakaway ropers competing for $250,000 during the two-day, 10-round performance.

Breakaway roping has gone from being featured at 30 PRCA rodeos in 2019 to more than 450 in 2023. In 2020, the Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping took place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, in conjunction with the NFR and Jackie Crawford captured the world title. In 2021, the NFBR took place in Las Vegas at the Orleans Hotel and Casino and was won by Sawyer Gilbert. Each year Wrangler Network has brought the fans the action of the fastest growing event in rodeo and is excited to once again be the place to watch the ladies battle it out for Gold in 2023.
