#InCaseYouMissedIt: Ferreira Wins Big at Second Major of 2024 in Sacramento

The second PBR Major of the season is officially in the books, and it was a doozy. Leonardo Castro Ferreira was your big winner, while some familiar faces won on the Velocity Tour and PBR Canada. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the Unleash The Beast…

How ‘bout this rookie race? Of the Top 10 finishers at the PBR Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic in Sacramento, seven of them are rookies. None, however, was more dominant than 19-year-old Leonardo Castro Ferreira, who went 4-for-4 to win $100,000 and surge to No. 10 in the UTB standings.

Eduardo Aparecido is having a sneaky good season, currently ranked No. 3 in the standings. In Sacramento, Fast Eddy continued his momentum with a Round 2 win.

Daylon Swearingen is a bit further down in the standings than we’re accustomed to seeing him, but he made some moves with a Round 1 win in Sacramento.

Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…

Four hours south of Sacramento in Bakersfield, California, Keyshawn Whitehorse notched his first win of the season to earn a berth back on the premier series.

Another old friend, Marco Eguchi, won Round 1 in North Charleston, South Carolina…

…but Dustin Herman took the event win thanks to his 3-for-3 showing.

In the Touring Pro Division…

Guilherme Valleiras was the latest rider to earn the win at the PBR Stockyards Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, going 2-for-2.

Up north in PBR Canada…

The 2024 PBR Canada Championship race really got underway this weekend with the first event of the PBR Canada Cup Series in Red Deer, Alberta, and Jake Gardner surged to the lead in the standings.
