Fun Facts about Macon: In June, his favorite rodeo moment was winning the tie-down roping championship at the 2021 CNFR for Panola College. That list has grown now. He finished the 2021 season in 33 rd while still competing at college rodeos. That got him into the big winter rodeos. He also qualified for the Southeastern Circuit Finals which got him to the NFR Open. Winning that put him 16th. Then he won the Caldwell Night Rodeo in Idaho in August. His sister Josey Murphy finished 21 st in the world in the breakaway roping. They are both ranked in the top 10 of college rodeo’s southern region in the heading category of team roping. Macon has had to win checks at a lot of rodeos this year to be among the world’s best. He has roped and tied nearly 80% of the time this year.
