By: Andrew Hatfield

FORT WORTH, Texas – At the seventeenth iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum, Braidy Randolph (Jonestown, Pennsylvania) dominated, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the event in Fort Worth, Texas.

A member of the Texas Rattlers in the separate PBR Team Series, Randolph started his evening by topping Midnight Magic (Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 84 points, tying for second place in the opening round.

The battle-tested Pennsylvanian then rocketed to the top of the leaderboard with a Round 2-winning 86-point ride on Bottles Up (D4 Cattle/Melton Bull Co./Stockyards Pro Rodeo).

The victory netted Randolph a crucial 58.5 Challenger Series points.

Second was Randolph’s teammate on the Texas Rattlers, Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas), garnering 34 Challenger Series points.

Keeping hung on to CMSR 006 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) in the opening round for 75 points, positioned seventh on the event leaderboard ahead of Round 2.

Knowing he had to make up a lot of ground, Keeping locked in, topping Minion (Brickyard Bulls/Melton Bull Co. /Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 83.5 points and clinching the silver finish.

Cort McFadden (Novice, Texas), who was drafted by the Austin Gamblers in the first round of the 2023 PBR Team Series Reserve Roster Draft, was third.

In his sixth appearance at the Stockyards Showcase, McFadden turned in his best performance by lasting the 8 on CMSR 030 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) for 77 points in Round 1 and besting UR 1804 (Scott Burruss) for 80 points in Round 2.

The podium finish earned McFadden 23 Challenger Series points.

2002 PBR World Champion Ednei Caminhas (Indaiatuba, Brazil) went 1-for-2 to finish fourth.

Caminhas’s performance was headlined by the high-marked ride of the event in Round 1 as the veteran Brazilian bested UR-17 (Scott Burruss) for 87.5 points.

Caminhas’s hopes of victory, however, came to a quick end in the second round when he was tossed by Hot Spot (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) in 2.82 seconds.

Caminhas left Cowtown Coliseum with 23 Challenger Series points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was the Arizona Ridge Riders’ Guilherme Valleiras (Pirassununga, Brazil), who earned 17.5 Challenger Series points.

In Round 1, Valleiras tied for second alongside Randolph, delivering his 84-point performance atop UR-815 (Scott Burruss).

The Brazilian newcomer, however, was unable to make the 8 in the final round, bucked off by UR 502 (Scott Burruss) in a hard-fought 5.99 seconds.

In the bull pen, Fowl Play (BMC Bucking Bulls/Jenkins Cattle Co.) was the fiercest competitor, earning the Bull of the Event title. Bucking in Round 1, the powerful animal athlete ousted Carlos Gomes Junior (Carmo de Minas, Brazil) in 6.03 seconds, marked an event-best 44 points.
