Fun Facts about Wenda: She went to more rodeos this year than she has in any of her previous qualifications. That has taken a lot of juggling for her. Along with being one of the best barrel racers in the WPRA, she is a wife, mother, ranch hand, and teacher. She also has a doctorate degree in nursing and uses those skills in the as a part-time nurse practioner in the emergency room. She and her husband Tyson, a rancher, have two daughters they are raising to be strong women. Wenda’s mother Janiece Wilson introduced her daughters to horses while they were living in Cave Creek, Arizona. It became a passion that has turned into another career for Wenda. She went to rodeos this spring that turned into dividends and new experiences for MacGuyver Moonflash and Steal Money, known as Mac and Mo. The geldings, owned by High Point Performance Horses got wins for her in Logandale, Nevada, and Clovis, California. Wenda’s horsemanship has been developed through years of putting the needs of her horses first and working to get the best out of them. That happened in a big way this year as she lost Mac in August and had to call on Mo to step up to the plate. He did that and will be getting the call again in December.
