Fun Facts about Ty: He was the most successful tie-down roper over the Fourth of July and that money had him stampeding all the way to the bank. Ty set an earnings record at $40,561. He earned $32,290 of that at rodeos that carry the Stampede name in Greeley, Colorado; Cody, Wyoming, and Ponoka, Alberta. This has been the best regular season that he has had since joining the PRCA in 2017. He won the Rookie of the Year title after obtaining full membership. That same year he won the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association title for Cisco College. His best finish in four years of competing was last year at fifth. He has built on that success all year and is hoping to be even higher in the standings at the end of this year’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. He has been traveling this year with his younger brother Joel, who unfortunately finished 32nd in the standings and will be watching Ty from the stands. It would be a dream come true for the whole Harris family to have them both competing in the Thomas and Mack Arena.
