Shane Hanchey Running Food Trailer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Shane Hanchey would rather be rodeoing.

However, the 2013 tie-down roping world champion and 2019 reserve world champ, is keeping busy while PRCA rodeos are on hold due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, while running his own food trailer.

The name of Hanchey’s food trailer is Bo’s Boil N Geaux. Hanchey is from Sulphur, La.

“We do boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, étouffée, seafood gumbo, chicken and sausage gumbo and then a fried shrimp basket,” Hanchey said. “It’s a Cajun food trailer. We will be set up in Giddings, Texas.”

Bam’s Special is Hanchey’s big seller, four pounds of crawfish, a half pound of boiled shrimp, four potatoes, two corns, two sausages and four dipping sauces.

Hanchey’s trailer will be situated in the parking lot of Taco Chihuahua. Last weekend was Hanchey’s opening weekend.

“We’re going to be there every Friday through Sunday through the end of April in the same location,” Hanchey said. “We killed it (last weekend). It was our best weekend by far. We sold over 2,000 pounds of crawfish.”

The hours of operation for Bo’s Boil N Geaux are Friday from 4:30-9 p.m. (CT) and Saturday and Sunday from 2-8 p.m.

“I named (the food trailer) after her (fiancée Taylor Jacob) good barrel horse that she set the arena (Thomas & Mack Center) record on,” Hanchey said.
