Fun Facts about Jacob: He is making his debut at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and so are his traveling partners, Jayco Roper and Dean Thompson. Jacob grew up in a busy household in Idaho. He is one of seven children. As he progressed in his bareback riding, it took him to college in California at West Hills Community College, then he came to Western Texas College at Snyder. He qualified for the CNFR for both institutions and in 2021 finished in fourth place. That same year he finished in 33rd place in the PRCA standings. The next year, he moved up a spot into 32nd and was making a bid for the NFR when he injured an elbow that required surgery. That surgery gave the newlywed time to spend with his wife, Chelsea. The final week of this year’s season he was 17th and added enough to move to 14th at the Governor’s Cup Rodeo in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
