Fun Facts about Dirk: For the past seven years, Dirk has been thinking out of the box, the hazing box that is. While he loves hazing and owning and hauling great horses, he wanted to be in the steer wrestling box at the WNFR and has steadily been working towards that goal. He has hazed in the Thomas and Mack Arena in Las Vegas and last year hazed for the number one and two men in the world standings. This year, he’ll probably be playing double duty as much as he can, but after finishing in the crying hole a year ago, he is going to get to nod his head for a steer at rodeo’s championships. Dirk’s wife Courtney is a schoolteacher. He comes from a ranching family and learned the value of hard work at a very early age.
