Fun Facts about Dirk: While his initial experience in the Thomas and Mack Center was on the hazing side, he is now becoming a fan-favorite steer wrestler. This is his third consecutive qualification and his best beginning at rodeo’s championships to date. He surpassed his own earnings records and did it in less time. He competed at last year’s NFR with a knee injury and it didn’t go like he had hoped. He had surgery, spent time at home and put in the work to return to the arena. He did that in May. He really started winning in July and with just three months of competing was 12 th in the world. He continued to climb to eight and hopes that trajectory continues in Las Vegas. The highlight of this year will always be finding out that his wife, Courtney, is expecting. The much-anticipated birth of their daughter will happen in March.
